Thank you teacher Nora and thank you teacher Kevin July 13th 2007
We were very lucky to have had Kevin Mitchell and Nora Ryan come to teach at CLC for two weeks in July. Kevin and Nora are teachers from Chicago and they came here during their summer holiday.

For two weeks they helped at CLC by teaching English and Kevin taught science on Mondays and Tuesdays. It is always fun to have new people come to CLC. The students were excited to meet new foreign people and use the English that they are learning to comminicate with them. It was a fun two weeks and we thank you Kevin and Nora again!

Our new school year has begun!! May 28th 2007
The third school year of the Ban Nai Soi Community Learning Center has begun! This year we have 33 students from 12 villiges in Mae Hong Son province. About 15 of these students are new! Because the NSCLC is designed as a three year program we will have our first graduations at the end of this year.

We also have three foreign volunteers comitted to teaching for the entire school year! Kim has been teaching at the CLC since January. Emmett was a teacher here back in the fall of 2005. Neil visited our school in February and liked it enough to come back for the year.

Here are some photos below

Thank you very much for our donations!!! Summer 2006
Through donations by family and friends in the USA volunteer Anne Ford was able to get funds to buy uniforms for the girls volleyball team and the boys football(soccer) team. The boys also received shoes. The children are very very excited about these uniforms. Most of the boys had never worn football shoes before.

Here's both teams with their uniforms.

The boys.

More donations(Brackett Foundation) led to our new satellite for accessing the internet! Another great donation was 5 more PCs(Colby University, USA)!! We now have a computer room with 6 PCs and an internet connection! Here's a picture of the computer room.

Over the spring holiday our volunteer dorm was built. It has 2 private rooms, private shower facilities, and electricity. Picture below

Here's another picture with the new satellite(behind fence), classroom one and the computer room(background), and the volunteer dorm(right).
